Keep Calm And Survive On One Income!

We are continuing our quest to one income. Four weeks ago I turned in my two week notice - and as of yet, I'm still working. Apparently those days of "I don't care if I have a job" are gone.... I really miss being able to have that attitude right about now!

I've been reading book after book, blog after blog, and article after article, that talks about how everyone is able to shop monthly for groceries for families twice as big as ours while spending half as much as I do. I must have a mental block on this because for the life of me I can't figure out how they do it.

This morning I planned our menu and made our grocery list in about an hour. I was pleased that I was able to get two weeks worth of food for around $140. I REALLY  don't think $70.00 a week is all that bad. What I'm not sure on is that I essentially planned a meal for one week - and then doubled the portions. We'll be eating the same meals for two weeks. I'm honestly not so sure I'm happy about that.  Obviously this menu planning thing is going to take some more work.

I have not totally given up on finding some super creative way to generate an income from home. Unfortunately right now I've not had the real time to devote to it. That will be one GOOD part of being at home!

So as of yet, I'm still SUPER apprehensive about leaving my job, but there will come a point where I have no choice but to be at home. I'm sure I'll be working up and to that point knowing me, lol!

In reference to the quote at the top of this page, I think I'm most looking forward to getting to know me and all the things I'm good at (or could be good at). I'm finally going to have the opportunity to see if "housewife" makes the list!
